Recipients of the James Simon Prize and donors to the Daniel Barenboim Foundation's musical education projects

We would like to congratulate our friends and supporters, Mrs. Brigitte Oetker and Mr. Arend Oetker, very warmly on the recently awarded James Simon Prize! The prize is awarded for exemplary social and cultural commitment in Germany. The work of the Oetker couple is a great inspiration for us, as it is for so many.

Joy, as we know, is doubled by sharing - so their commitment is also reflected in the fact that they decided to pass on the endowed prize money to one social and one cultural project. In doing so, the couple dedicated one half to Malteser-Hilfsdienst e.V. and the other half to the foundation's musical education projects. And that's not all: through their additional private support, our projects will benefit from a total of 50,000 euros. Many thanks for this generous support!
