The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, led by Maestro Daniel Barenboim, has completed a successful autumn tour of major European cities. Starting on 31 October, the tour brought powerful performances to Munich's Isarphilharmonie, the Mendelssohn Festival's Gewandhaus and London's Southbank Centre.
The Orchestra and Maestro Barenboim performed Mendelssohn's Fourth Symphony and Brahms' Fourth Symphony to great acclaim from audiences and critics.
This year's anniversary is particularly significant, marking a quarter of a century since the first workshop of the West-Eastern Divan Project in 1999 in Weimar with Maestro Barenboim and Edward Said. The orchestra's journey from that first workshop to this milestone underscores its ongoing mission to promote dialogue and togetherness through music.
The Divan and Maestro Barenboim will reunite for future performances in 2025. Further details will be announced in due course.
