The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Barenboim, has successfully completed its 2025 Summer Tour, received standing ovations at each sold-out venue. Reflecting on the tour, Maestro Barenboim offered the following statement:

"Amidst a constant stream of horrendous and heartbreaking news, our recently completed tour with the West Eastern Divan Orchestra has been more than just a welcome antidote.
Every day for the past 2.5 weeks, musicians from Israel, Palestine and different Arab countries have sat side by side. They engaged in spirited conversation and debate, and they made music together. The extraordinary quality and dedication of these musicians has once more allowed them to perform alongside the greatest orchestras, in some of the world‘s leading music festivals.
I could not be more proud of their hard work, and most importantly, of their perseverance in coming together, in making music together, and in really seeing and accepting the other. They have showed us, once again, that humanism is and remains our last defence."
— Daniel Barenboim
The tour, which ran from 9 to 17 August, brought the orchestra to leading summer festivals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Pianist Lang Lang, returning to the Divan after his last appearance in 2022, was the soloist in Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1. The programme also included Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, Eroica.

The opening concert at the Musikfest Bremen was followed by appearances at Berlin’s Waldbühne, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and the Rheingau Musik Festival. The orchestra then travelled on to the Salzburger Festspiele, before concluding at the Lucerne Festival.
