The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and Daniel Barenboim on tour across Europe
Only a few weeks after its summer festival appearances, the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra returns to the stage with Daniel Barenboim for a tour of seven European cities, from 17 to 28 September 2026.
The tour brings the orchestra to some of the continent's most celebrated concert halls, among them the Philharmonie de Paris, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Musikverein in Vienna and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. Following its August concerts with soloists Clara-Jumi Kang and Yo-Yo Ma, in September the orchestra turns to a purely orchestral programme: Schubert's "Unfinished" Symphony, the Prelude and Liebestod from Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, and Beethoven's Third Symphony, the "Eroica".
The orchestra's next project follows soon after: from 11 to 18 November 2026, the Daniel Barenboim Stiftung presents the first West-Eastern Divan Festival, a week of ten events across Berlin. More details at divanfestival.de.
Program Franz Schubert: Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D 759 "Unfinished" Richard Wagner: Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 55 "Eroica"
